Dr. Mabe does not work for or with any specific police department or agency. Confidentiality is assured
within the confines of the laws of Texas as they apply to counselors and their clients.
Many police officers chose not to file an insurance claim, even though they usually have some type of counseling
benefits through there department health insurance. Because of fitness for duty issues, police officers often worry
filing a claim for counseling. Many department health plans will pay for counseling, and do not hold basic counseling
issues against a police officer if they seek treatment, and/or reimbursement for counseling services. Dr. Mabe does
not file insurance claims, therefore it is up to the individual to file a claim for their own personal reimbursement.
